Here comes another basic recipe which will be variegated for sure in the future with delicious other ingredients and flavours. This time: Waffles
When I was a kid, my mother made waffles in the afternoon when we felt like having something sweet like cake, but wanted something faster. Or waffles were very typical for a school event.
I never though having them for breakfast with fresh fruits or a choclate spread, but now I think: why not 😉
Why not enjoy the sweet stuff in the morning, why not start the day with something like that and combine it with all the healthy stuff you like. When I feel like having a cake in the morning, I make one or eat a piece from yesterdays cake for breakfast. When I feel like having waffles for breakfast, I make some. And when I feel like having them again in the afternoon, well why not?
Who makes the rules? You make the rules! Who´s telling you what and when to eat? You do – or more like your body 😉
Do and eat whatever makes you feel better, but also listen when your body says it´s enough. Because only then you will feel good and you won´t gain weight – especially not with a vegan lifestyle 😀
Ingredients for about 5 Waffles:
250 g whole grain Flour
2 tbsp grounded Almonds
1 tbsp Baking Powder
70 g Agave
200 ml Soy Milk
100 ml Sparkling Water
Vanilla, Cardamom, Nutmeg
Oil for the waffle iron
Peanutbutter, Chocolate Chunks, Raspberries and Brittle as toppings
Mix all the ingredients for the dough until you have a well-combined sticky texture. Put the dough in the fridge while you preheat the waffle iron on full heat. When the iron is fully heated up, reduce it to 1/3 and sprinkle some oil on it. Give about 3 tbsp of th dough onto the iron and bake it until you have a golden waffle.
Top it with peanutbutter, chocolate, fruits, nuts or whatever you like to and enjoy it for breakfast or snack in the afternoon 🙂
